Our best-selling Granville trousers now have a much-requested matching jacket!
Our 1940s-look grey herringbone wool Granville suit is brimming with authentic sartorial style. This two-piece suit is designed to pair well with our matching Granville waistcoat, but both pieces are a versatile grey shade that will surely mix and match with your other vintage items, too. However you style it, it's sure to create a classic wartime look.
As always with our Socialite range, we have carefully copied original vintage pieces create our period-accurate Granville suit, which is comprised of a patch pocket jacket (the same cut as our Clubman jacket) and a pair of high waist men’s bag trousers. These are both realised in a high-quality soft grey-black herringbone cloth.
The Granville trousers are replicas of an original pair of 1930s trousers – they can be described as a more conservative version of the Oxford bag style popular in the 1920s & 30s.
Key authentic features include:
Jacket:
- Three-button fastening, with deep brown leather-look buttons. Single button at each cuff.
- Two front patch pockets with a centre pleat and button fastening.
- Asymmetrical buttoned breast pocket, which is replicated exactly from the original suit jacket in our archive (see last image).
- Neat collar with rounded notch lapels. Buttonhole decor.
- No back vents.
- Fully lined in complimentary sateen fabric. Two internal pockets.
Trousers:
- High-waisted with a V notch at the back.
- Button fly fastening, and buttons for attaching trouser braces.
- Double pleated fronts and straight vertical side seam pockets.
- There is an additional working pocket at the back hip with a neat button-down flap.
Fabric content is 50% wool and 50% polyester, which makes for a soft, medium-weight fabric with a durable forties look.

SIZING NOTE: The Granville trousers are high-waisted and so the cut of them may mean a tighter fit. If you are between sizes, we recommend ordering the next size up, or for better accuracy measure yourself just below the belly button. The front rise seam is longer therefore up to 2" in length can be added depending how high or low they sit on the waist. Measurements on our size chart are accurate to approximately a quarter inch.
Our model Ben is 5ft 10 and wears a 42" jacket and waistcoat, and a pair of 34" trousers.
